Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly arrives in the capital today to attend a ceremony tonight marking the start of 100-day countdown to the 2011 Cricket World Cup. The great left-handed batsman, who played 311 one-day internationals, will fly in at 1:30pm.Ganguly led his country in the 2003 edition of the tournament, where India finished runners-up. The countdown ceremony will be held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Deputy Speaker Shawkat Ali will inaugurate the event, which will feature a firework display beginning at 12:01am. India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are jointly hosting the 10th World Cup on February 19-April 2. The opening ceremony will be held in Dhaka on February 17.
