Manoj Tiwary hits out at Ganguly???????

Date : 29/11/09
Kolkata: Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary took an indirect dig at the former India captain Sourav Ganguly saying players in his team were pursuing "individual goals" and not performing as a unit in the drawn Ranji Super League Group B match against Saurashtra here.

Apparently hinting at Ganguly, Tiwary said, "It's time to bid goodbye to our reputation and play as a unit now in the present context."

"Instead of playing for individual goals, our players need to focus on team goal. There is a room for improvement in that area," Tiwary said in the post-match interaction.

Bengal were humiliated on their home turf after Saurashtra enforced a follow-on with a 194-run first innings lead. Saurashtra logged three points, while Bengal had to be content with one point from the drawn match that ended on Friday.

Ganguly had a forgettable outing scoring 16.

"We need to sit together, discuss what is going wrong and rectify our mistakes. We have tough two matches ahead (against Uttar Pradesh and Delhi)," Tiwary said.

Tiwary captained a side which have retired India batsman Ganguly, who will captain Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL-III Twenty20 extravaganza next year
