Mumbai: “It’s a fabulous feeling... Feels great.”

That was former captain Sourav Ganguly’s reaction as Mahendra Singh Dhoni got the winning runs in the World Cup final.

Sourav had been at the helm when India last reached the title-round, in 2003. “The better team (Australia) won that day, the better team has won tonight... That final is history, this final is going to be talked about now,” he told The Telegraph.

Smiling, Sourav added: “See the difference when Dhoni promotes himself... Chasing 275 wasn’t going to be easy, but we played normal cricket and that worked... Gautam Gambhir’s was an excellent knock.”

Sourav singled out Dhoni and Man of the Tournament Yuvraj Singh, his protege at one time, for special mention.
