Sourav Ganguly to own Franchise in Premier League Soccer

The Indian Football Association (IFA) plans to launch an Indian Premier League-like tournament from next year, hoping to initiate a "revolution" in the country by bringing a host of World Cuppers and renowned foreign coaches on board.

The seven-week tournament... - christened as Premier League Soccer (PLS) - has been slated for February-March and will be held across the state among six franchisees to be based in Kolkata, Howrah, Barasat, Midnapore, Siliguri and Asansol.

Bidding for franchisee owners and the players' auction should be over by July-August this year, according to organizers. It has been learnt that Sourav Ganguly and National Award-winning actor Prosenjit Chatterjee have been sounded out for owning the franchisees.
